BIRTH DOULA

During this exciting time, an experienced, non-judgmental supporter and quality resource can be an unending source of comfort. It’s amazing and humbling to be invited in to help make another’s birth experience joyful, and to have a positive impact on such an important journey.

I honor and welcome families of surrogacy and adoption, as well as LGBTQ and chosen families. No matter how your family was created, I am ready to meet you where you are and support your individual needs and goals.

I Pledge to:

  • Practice the NEAR principle: Nurturing, Educating, Assessing, and Referring.

  • Provide information necessary in a non-judgmental way to help you make informed decisions that are right for you.

  • Discuss questions, concerns, and options, but will not speak on your behalf.

  • Inspire confidence in your ability to be your own self-advocate and give birth your own best way.

  • Support and encourage your partner, enhancing their support style, not replacing them during labor.

  • Provide emotional support and physical comfort measures to you and your family from early labor until childbirth, but will not perform medical or clinical tasks such as exams or fetal heartbeat checks.

  • Recognize childbirth as an incomparable life experience, by nurturing and protecting you and the memory of your birth adventure.
